Because biblical confidence isn’t “look how amazing I am.” It’s “look what God put in me, and I’m not going to bury it.”

It is probably still 87 degrees outside.

But. We are HERE. 🍂☕️🍩

Donuts balanced precariously on iced coffee.

We are simply choosing to live in the future at this point. 😂

Throw FR, Let’s Talk in your ears, grab something unnecessarily fall-flavored, and come pretend with us.

Jesus + iced coffee + fake fall. Honestly, we’re thriving!!!!

It is August.
It is Thursday.
It is probably still 87 degrees outside.

Sometimes “It doesn’t matter” isn’t actually about where she wants to eat.

Sometimes it’s easier to have no preference.
No opinion.
No strong feeling.
No answer someone could disagree with.

Because somewhere along the way, a girl can start learning that being easy to be around feels safer than being fully known.

So she shrugs.
Whatever.
You pick.
It doesn’t matter.

And slowly, without anyone noticing, she gets really good at disappearing inside the room.

But then you look at Jesus.

He asked people questions.
What do you want?
What do you think?
Who do you say that I am?
What do you want Me to do for you?

Not because He lacked the answers.
Because He wanted them to use their voice.

Mama, your daughter does not need to be the loudest girl in the room.

But she does need to know that humility is not the same thing as erasing herself.

That kindness doesn’t require silence.

That belonging shouldn’t cost her honesty.

That having an opinion doesn’t make her difficult.

That saying what she needs doesn’t make her too much.

So when she says, “I don’t care,” maybe sometimes ask again.

“But if it DID matter… what would you choose?”

Because today it might be pizza toppings.

But someday it may be a boundary.

A conviction.
A relationship.
Her faith.

Raise a daughter who knows she can gently, confidently say: “This is what I think. This is what I need. This is what I believe.”

Because the voice she learns not to shrink today... may be the voice God asks her to use tomorrow. It matters.

Sometimes “It doesn’t matter” isn’t actually about where she wants to eat.

Sometimes it’s easier to have no preference.
No opinion.

The “why wasn’t I invited?” lonely.

The friendship-changed-and-nobody-warned-me lonely.

The God-feels-weirdly-quiet-right-now lonely.

And because we refuse to slap a ✨cute Christian quote✨ over an actual ache and call it healed—we went deeper.

Hannah. Scripture. Real-life ways to get out of your own head, bring the hurt into the light, and remember that feeling unseen does not mean you ARE unseen.

Sometimes the funniest girl in the room is genuinely just… really stinking funny. And sometimes—she learned that if she can make you laugh at the thing that hurt her, nobody will realize how much it actually did.

That’s the part I don’t want us to miss.

Because humor can become this brilliant little escape hatch:

I told you what happened.

I just made sure you laughed before you could worry about me.

And I keep thinking about Elijah.

This wildly faithful, courageous man has this massive mountaintop moment with God…
and then completely falls apart.

And God doesn’t stand over him asking where the strong version went.

He comes close.
He feeds him.
Lets him sleep.
Stays with him.
No performance required.

I want our girls to know that kind of love.

The kind where they can walk into the room without the punchline.

Where they can say, “Actually… that really hurt.”

And nobody rushes to fix it.
Nobody tells them they’re being dramatic.
Nobody needs them to make it lighter.
We laugh with our girls. A LOT.

But may we also become the place where they learn:

You never have to make your pain easier for me to hold.
