What About People Who’ve Never Heard of Jesus + How to Let Hard Seasons Pass

Okay girl, real talk — have you ever wondered what happens to people who never even hear about Jesus? Or maybe you’ve caught yourself numbing out with TikTok, Netflix, or snacks when life feels too heavy? Yeah… same.Big questions, real struggles, and a God who meets us right in the middle. Pull up a seat, sis — this one’s for you.

What is UP my girl squad?! I’m so glad you’re here. Like, seriously — whether you're walking home from school, doing your skincare, or hiding out in your room with snacks and earbuds, welcome back to a quick bonus drop on the podcast.”

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know how this works — this podcast lives and breathes on YOUR questions. Every week, you girls send me the most thoughtful, honest, and sometimes really hard questions about life and faith. And I love it. Because this is your safe space to wrestle with those things out loud.

So today, I’m tackling not one, but TWO questions you’ve sent in. And honestly? They tie together more than you might think.

Here’s the first one, from a sweet listener named Rebekah: “Will God still save those who have never heard of Him in their life? Or maybe don’t know Him, and have been brought up to worship another false god by force?”

Whew. That’s deep. That’s heavy. And girl, you’re not the first one to wrestle with it. People have been asking this for literally centuries.

And the second question? It’s a little closer to home. It’s about what we do when life feels heavy or stressful — and instead of running to God, we reach for stuff that only numbs us for a moment. You know, those temporary “fixes” that feel good right now but leave us empty later.

So yeah — big questions, real struggles, but ONE God who meets us right in the middle. Grab your iced coffee, your Bible, or your skincare routine — whatever makes you feel cozy — and let’s get into it.

SEGMENT 1: GOD IS JUST… AND HE’S MERCIFUL

Let’s start with Rebekah’s question. What happens to people who never hear about Jesus?

First, we’ve got to remember who God is. He’s not some distant judge waiting to zap people. He’s perfectly holy, yes — but also perfectly loving.

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.” — Psalm 89:14

That means everything God does flows out of BOTH justice and love. He can’t be unfair. He won’t be unkind. He knows every story, every tear, every situation.

Romans 2:15 tells us that God has written His law on every human heart — so even if someone has never read a Bible, there’s this inner compass pointing them toward Him.

And Romans 1:20 says that since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities have been clearly seen in what He has made. In other words: He’s not hiding. He wants to be known.

SEGMENT 2: NONE OF US FIND GOD ON OUR OWN

Here’s a truth bomb: none of us naturally run to God by ourselves. Even those of us raised in church didn’t “get it” by default. Romans 3:11 says no one seeks God unless God draws them.

So whether you’re a girl in Tennessee at youth group or a girl on the other side of the world who’s never seen a Bible — God has to open your eyes. And the beautiful part? He IS doing that. All the time.

Through creation. Through conscience. Through dreams and visions — especially in places where missionaries haven’t yet reached. God is constantly drawing people to Himself.

SEGMENT 3: JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY — BUT GOD MAKES A WAY

Now, here’s where it gets both clear and comforting. The Bible says Jesus is the only way to salvation.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6

That can sound kind of exclusive. But think about it like this: if your house was on fire and there was ONE safe way out, you wouldn’t complain there weren’t more exits. You’d be thankful there was a way at all.

And that’s what God did for us in Jesus. He didn’t have to make a way — but He did.

So what about people who never hear His name? We don’t know every detail.

The Bible doesn’t spell out exactly how God handles each case.

But here’s what we DO know:

✔️ He is perfectly just (Genesis 18:25)

✔️ He is full of mercy (Psalm 145:8)

✔️ He sees every heart (1 Samuel 16:7)

We can trust Him with the questions we can’t fully answer.

SEGMENT 4: WHY THIS MATTERS — OUR ROLE IN THE STORY

But here’s the thing: trusting God doesn’t mean we shrug and move on. Romans 10:14 reminds us:

“How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?”

This is why the gospel matters. This is why YOU matter. God uses ordinary girls like you to shine His light — whether that’s inviting a friend to church, sharing your story online, or just living differently in a way that makes people wonder, “What’s different about her?”

You don’t have to be a Bible scholar to be part of God’s mission. You just have to be willing.

And that’s where our second conversation comes in — because how can we share truth if we’re constantly numbing ourselves with temporary things that keep us stuck?

SEGMENT 5: REAL TALK — DON’T TRADE FOREVER FOR RIGHT NOW

Okay, switching gears a little — but actually, this is connected. Because it’s not just “them out there” who need to know God. It’s US too, right here, who need to actually live like His way matters.

Here’s a hypothetical story. After I had surgery, I was given pain meds. Totally normal. But after the pain passed, I kept taking them — not because I needed them, but because I didn’t want to feel uncomfortable. They became a crutch.

And maybe for you, it’s not meds. Maybe it’s TikTok. Or Netflix. Or food. Or even friendships that aren’t pointing you back to God. We reach for what numbs, not what heals.

But the Bible warns us: those things might feel good in the moment, but they can steal our peace, our purpose, even our purity.

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out.” — 1 Corinthians 10:13

The way out is there. But we’ve got to choose it.

SEGMENT 6: LET IT PASS — PRACTICAL POWER MOVES

So what do you do when life feels too heavy and you’re tempted to escape into something temporary? Try these:

1️⃣ Pray it out. Even if all you say is, “God, I’m hurting and I don’t know what to do.” That’s enough. Philippians 4:6 says to bring everything to Him.

2️⃣ Praise through it. Worship shifts the atmosphere. Blast your favorite worship song. Cry to it. Dance to it. Praise isn’t just for good days — it’s a weapon for the hard ones.

3️⃣ Phone a faith friend. Don’t isolate. Text your small group leader or a trusted friend and say, “I’m struggling.” God didn’t design you to do this alone.

Remember: “What is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” — 2 Corinthians 4:18. Don’t trade forever for right now.

SEGMENT 7: TYING IT ALL TOGETHER

So let’s bring this full circle.

Rebekah asked, “What about people who’ve never heard about Jesus?” And you might be asking, “What about me, when I keep messing up with temptation?”

And the answer is the same:

➡️ God is good.

➡️ God is just.

➡️ God is making a way.

For the girl in another country who’s never seen a Bible. For the girl in her bedroom crying because she messed up again. For YOU, listening right now.

God is revealing Himself. And He’s inviting us not just to receive Him — but to reflect Him.

Sis, here’s what I want you to hold onto today:

💡 You can trust God with the big, hard questions.

💡 You can trust God in the middle of your temptations.

💡 And you don’t have to settle for temporary when you were made for eternal.

So let it pass.

Choose Him.

Share Him.

And never forget — you are deeply loved by a God who sees it all and still chooses you.

That’s your bonus drop for today. If it stirred something in you, share it with a friend, screenshot it, DM me — I love hearing how God is moving in your life.

Until next time — stay sparkly, stay rooted in truth, and let forever matter more than right now.

Love you, mean it!
