Okay…I’ve got a question for you, and I want you to be really honest with yourself. Like, no fake answers here. Do you know Jesus? And I don’t mean… like, ‘Yeah, I’ve heard of Him, He’s the Christmas baby in the manger and the Easter guy on the cross.’ I mean… do you know Him? Like, personally? As in, could you say He’s your best friend, your Savior, your God?
Or maybe… you’ve heard people talk about that, but you’ve never actually stepped into that kind of relationship. If that’s you… stay with me, because this episode might just change everything.
Who God Is
So here’s the deal. Before we talk about you and Jesus, let’s zoom way out. Who even is God?
God is the Creator of everything—the stars, the oceans, puppies, boba tea, the color pink, and yes, even you. But He’s not just a far-away force or some grumpy rule-keeper in the sky. He’s a Father. A perfect Father. The kind of Father who delights in you, who dreamed you up on purpose, who knows exactly how many freckles are on your face and how many times you’ve cried yourself to sleep. That’s God. The Creator who’s also deeply personal.
Who Jesus Is
Now, God loved us so much that He couldn’t just leave us in our mess. You’ve probably noticed—this world is broken. People hurt each other. We mess up. We lie, we scroll where we shouldn’t, we get jealous, we gossip, we ignore God. The Bible calls that sin. And sin is basically like this wall that separates us from God.
Enter Jesus. Jesus is God’s Son—but not like a son the way you and I think about it. Jesus is God in the flesh. 100% God, 100% human. He came to live the perfect life we couldn’t live, and then He willingly gave up His life on the cross to take the punishment for our sin. He literally traded His perfection for our brokenness. And then—plot twist—He didn’t stay dead.
Three days later, He rose again, proving He’s more powerful than sin, more powerful than death, and more powerful than anything that could ever keep you from God.
Who the Holy Spirit Is
But wait—it gets even better. Jesus didn’t just peace out and leave us on our own after He rose from the dead. When He went back to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is literally God’s presence living inside of every believer. Think of Him like your ultimate guide, comforter, hype-man, and inner voice of truth all rolled into one. He helps you remember who you are, points you back to Jesus, and gives you strength when you feel weak.
So, quick recap: God the Father loves you and created you. Jesus the Son died and rose again to save you. The Holy Spirit lives in you to guide you. Three persons. One God. It’s called the Trinity. Big word, simple truth: God is crazy in love with you and wants relationship with you.
Why God Wants Relationship with You
Okay, but… why? Why would the God of the universe want me? Like, why would He care?
Honestly, that’s the part that still makes me tear up when I think about it. It’s mercy. It’s grace.
It’s love. God didn’t create you just to watch you struggle through life and then give up. He created you to be with Him. Forever. That’s why He sent Jesus—to tear down the wall of sin that kept you apart.
And here’s the truth: you don’t have to earn it. You don’t have to wait until you’re perfect, or until you stop making mistakes, or until you finally feel like you’re ‘good enough.’ Spoiler: none of us ever are. That’s the whole point of grace. Grace says, ‘Come as you are. I’ve already done the work.’
The Invitation
So maybe right now your heart is beating a little faster. Maybe you’ve been listening for a while and you’re like, ‘Wait, I’ve never actually asked Jesus into my life. I’ve gone to church, I’ve sung the songs, but I don’t know Him personally.’
If that’s you… this is your moment. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to fix yourself first. Jesus is inviting you right now to say yes to Him. And saying yes is really simple. It’s just telling Him you believe, you’re sorry for your sins, and you want Him to be Lord of your life. That’s it. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, ‘If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.’
Prayer
Let’s pray together. If this is the desire of your heart, you can just repeat after me or even whisper it to God in your own words.
Jesus,
I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again so I could have eternal life. I admit that I’m a sinner and I need You. Please forgive me. Come into my life. Be my Savior, my Lord, and my best friend. Teach me how to follow You every day. Thank You for loving me, for saving me, and for giving me new life.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
What Happens Next
Okay, so if you just prayed that for the first time—girl, heaven is literally throwing a party for you right now. Like, full-on confetti cannons, angels singing, celebration mode. But I also want to be super real with you: this isn’t a sprint. Saying yes to Jesus doesn’t mean you wake up tomorrow as a perfect human with zero struggles. It’s not like a magic filter on Instagram.
What it does mean is that you’re forgiven. You’re free. You’re never walking alone again. And God will start this process of transforming your heart, your thoughts, your desires—bit by bit.
Some things might change instantly. Others might take years. That’s okay. God is patient. He’s not asking for perfection; He’s asking for your heart.
Final Call
So here’s my challenge: if you prayed that prayer, tell someone. Maybe it’s your mom, maybe it’s a friend, maybe it’s me—DM me on Instagram, seriously. Don’t keep it a secret. Following Jesus is personal, but it’s not meant to be private. And start small: open your Bible, pray—even if it feels awkward—ask God to show Himself to you. And plug into a church where you can grow.
Friend, this is the most important decision you’ll ever make. And I am so, so proud of you. Jesus loves you, He’s with you, and this—this is just the beginning.
