Wait, stop what you’re doing for a second. Put down the iced coffee, pause the scroll, and I need you to go look in a mirror. Like, a real mirror, not a filtered front-facing camera. I want you to actually look at your eyes. Because if you’ve been leaning into these downloads and actually opening your Bible this summer, I promise the girl looking back at you right now is not the girl from June. You’ve had a "holy glow-up" that has zero to do with a new lip gloss and everything to do with your soul. Your eyes look steadier, your heart feels lighter, and honestly? You’re just… more you.
Welcome back to the second-to-last episode of the season! I’m a little emotional, not gonna lie. Today is all about the Metamorphosis. We aren't just "ending a season," babes. We are acknowledging that you’ve officially outgrown your old shell and you’re about to step into a new atmosphere.
The Download
Let’s be real for a second: most people think growth is this boring, linear thing—like you just get 1% "better" every day, like leveling up in a game. But the intellectual truth of the Kingdom? It’s a total transformation. This summer wasn't just a break from math and that one teacher who drives you crazy; it was a laboratory for your character. Think about it. You’ve practiced the "no." You’ve mastered the "mental bouncer" at the door of your thoughts. You’ve learned to recognize the Shepherd’s voice over the social media static and the "who’s-hanging-out-with-who" drama.
But here is the "Main Character" secret I’ve been waiting to tell you: The growth you’ve seen since June is just the foundation. It’s like the roots under the sidewalk that you can’t see yet. You are becoming a girl who doesn’t need a "like" or a "seen" notification to feel valid. You’re becoming the girl who can walk into a room and actually shift the entire vibe without even trying.
When you head back to school next week, people are going to be looking for the "Old Version" of you. They’re going to expect the girl who’s easy to rattle, the girl who joins in on the gossip because she’s afraid of being left out, or the girl who’s constantly checking her phone for approval. But you? You’re showing up as the "August Version"—sanctified, sharp, and totally untouchable. If they don't recognize the new you?
Honestly, that’s a "them" problem. You weren't meant to stay the same. You were meant to evolve into the image of the King. Don't apologize for outgrowing people who aren't ready to grow with you.
The Truth Check
Let’s hit the Truth Check because 24/7 truth is the only way to live. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says: “And we all... are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory.”
I am obsessed with that phrase "ever-increasing glory." In the world, things peak and then they fade. Like, a trend is cool for two weeks and then it’s "cringe." But in Christ, your "peak" isn't a year in the past—it’s always in the future. You are moving from one level of beauty and strength to the next. All those "veils" of insecurity and "trying to fit in" have been stripped away this summer. You’ve been looking at Him, so now you’re starting to look like Him. It’s not about "trying harder," it’s about "reflecting better."
You’re becoming an icon of His grace, and let’s be honest—that is a much better aesthetic than anything you’ll find on a "For You" page.
The Summer Move
I want you to do a "Transformation Audit." This is your homework—and it's the only homework that actually matters. Sit down with your journal for ten minutes and write out three specific ways your brain has changed since June. How do you handle a "no" now? How do you talk to yourself when you mess up? What do you do now when you feel that sting of comparison? Once you see it on paper, I want you to literally thank God for the work He’s done. Own your growth, girly. You didn't just survive the summer—you absolutely conquered it.
