Sunkissed + Sanctified | Memo 12 Hidden Seasons Are Not Wasted Seasons

I want to talk to the girl who feels like she is currently "shadowbanned" by life. You know the feeling—you look at everyone else’s summer and it looks like a 24/7 highlight reel of concerts and beach trips, and then you look at your life and it’s a lot of… laundry. Sitting on the porch. Reading your Bible alone. It feels like you’re in a "hidden" season where nobody is seeing your growth, nobody is clapping for your progress, and you’re starting to wonder if God forgot where you live.

Welcome back. Today we are talking about The Power of the Hidden Season. Because if you don't understand what God is doing in the quiet, you’re going to forfeit the "loud" future He has planned for you. Your "boring" summer is actually a high-level construction site.

The Download 

We live in a world that only values what it can see. If it’s not documented, it didn't happen. If there’s no "likes," it’s not valid. We’ve been brainwashed to think that "influence" only happens when there’s an audience. But in the Kingdom of God? The most important work always happens in the dark. Think about a seed. It spends a massive amount of its life under the dirt, in the dark, being completely ignored. If that seed tried to grow a flower before it grew a root system, the first summer storm would blow it away.

God is currently growing your root system. He has you in a hidden season because He is building a foundation in you that can actually carry the weight of the calling He’s going to give you later. He’s protecting you from a platform you aren't strong enough to stand on yet. The quiet moments—the prayers nobody hears, the Bible chapters you read when you’d rather be scrolling, the integrity you show when no one is watching—that is the actual "work." You aren't "stuck." You are being processed. You aren't "forgotten." You are being prepared. Don't try to rush out of the "hidden" before God is finished with the "holy."

The Truth Check 

The Truth Check is Luke 16:10, and it’s the ultimate intellectual test for your summer. It says: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”

We all want the "much," don't we? We want the big purpose, the big influence, the "perfect" future. But God is a master recruiter. He’s watching how you handle the "very little." He’s watching how you handle a Tuesday afternoon. He’s watching how you treat your siblings when no one is looking. He’s watching how you steward your thoughts when you’re alone in your room.

If you can't be faithful in the "hidden" season, why would God trust you with a "visible" one? The "little" things are the big things. Your character isn't built on a stage; it’s built in the secret. Every time you choose truth over a lie in the quiet, you are proving to the King that you can be trusted with the "much." Don't despise the smallness of your current season. It’s the training ground for your destiny.

The Summer Move 

So here is your Summer Move. This week, I want you to Sanctify the Secret. Pick one thing you do that is completely hidden—maybe it’s a prayer for someone who has hurt you—and instead of wishing someone noticed, look up and say, "God, this is just for You." Find the "main character energy" in being seen by the only Eye that matters. The roots you're growing in the dark this July are what’s going to hold you up when the world finally turns the lights on.
